The NANDO's Nuts story

  • Chapel Hill, Oct 2020 to Dec 2022. Run from his house on weekends. Sole owner.
  • 37 donuts the first weekend. Later sold out 1,500 in under four hours.
  • Sundays turned into a weekly gathering. One couple met at a NANDO's Nuts Sunday and later married.
  • Bought a $10K fryer. A Daily Tar Heel article ran. The landlord gave one week's notice. Moved to a walk-up window just off Franklin Street and ran another year.
  • Nearly $27,000 raised for Operation Underground Railroad.
  • Closed instead of going full time.
  • Instagram is still up: @nandos_nuts.
